Barrier Breakers help you Win at Life!

When we think of breakthroughs, we often think of a medical breakthrough that changes everything, as the cure for polio did in 1953. Today we’ll explore this topic from the perspective of getting a breakthrough in your life that changes everything. Breakthrough is only required when you are facing a barrier that is trying to keep you from moving forward. Sometimes that roadblock can appear to be impossible to move or get around. Barriers will keep you stuck in a rut and repeating destructive life cycles like; one bad relationship after another, getting fired from after job, or consistently struggling with money problems.

Where it All Begins

Imagine a woman who grew up with military-style parents. She knew her parents loved her, but approval was always earned, never given freely. Her parents believed in disciplining any small infraction and structure was a must. She was up at the crack of dawn every Saturday morning to clean the house for her mother’s white glove test at noon. Any grades less than a C were met with restrictions of all extracurricular activities until the next report card. We will call this woman Sally. Sally’s parents were strict and critical. They monitored Sally’s behavior well into her adulthood, not allowing much room for her to make her own decisions. Her performance was always a defining factor in their praise or criticism.

Sally went from her parents’ home to her husband’s home. Now, Sally is married with two children. She married a man just like her daddy. He was a great provider, but emotionally unavailable. Feeling loved never hit an emotional heart level for Sally. Can you imagine what some of her barriers are in life? She never really made decisions, so when her husband died of a heart attack at the young age of 45, she was clueless.

She was riddled with indecision, overthinking, fear of failure, and a host of other barriers.

Those barriers were bearable while she was married, and her husband made all the decisions, but now she must provide for her two small children. When opportunities would present themselves to Sally, she would second guess if she could do it or not. Her self-worth was directly tied to her performance. (Wonder where that thought pattern developed?) She was smart, intelligent, and very capable of solving problems, but she feared she would make the wrong decision and therefore, wouldn’t make any decision at all.

She was creative and had a passion for writing children’s books, but her dad always said that it wasn’t a real career path. Sally also had a love for numbers, finance, and investing, but she was afraid of taking risks. She ended up with a dead-end job that was barely keeping the lights on at home and food on the table. She was living at a standard of life that was much lower than she had ever experienced. Stress, worry, fear, and frustration was the fabric of her life. She needed a breakthrough.

Barriers that Hinder Progress

Barriers come in many different forms, but they are all designed to separate you from achieving something better for your life. Think about how the following barriers can fuel negative cycles in your life:

  • Procrastination
  • Burn Out
  • Fear of Failure
  • Fear of Rejection
  • Fear of Unknown
  • Fear of Inadequacy
  • Fear of Success
  • Fear of Death
  • Indecision
  • Lack of Confidence
  • Lack of Focus
  • Undisciplined
  • Unorganized
  • Perfectionism
  • Overthinking
  • Laziness

Breakthrough is required to live a life you can fall in love with over and over again. It is necessary to get to your next level of living. We need barrier breakers that will allow us to level up, grow, expand, and realize our deepest dreams. Crafting a winning life is a courageous venture.

“We cannot solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them.”

Albert Einstein
Invisible Barriers

Breakthrough is like an offensive military assault. It requires a brute force attack against any obstacle standing in your way. The problem is some barriers are invisible. Invisible barriers are blind spots in your life that you don’t realize exist. A blind spot will make you feel like you are shadowboxing against something you can’t identify. You know that feeling you get when you have read all the books, watched all the YouTube videos, and applied all the advice, but you are still stuck in a rut. Blind spots are impossible to recognize on your own. They are revealed by inviting an objective outside party into the situation to give you an unbiased observation. BtFL not only provides that unbiased observation but we have an arsenal of tools designed to destroy what hinders progress. When these tools are used effectively you will get a breakthrough that will last a lifetime.

Look at all the rags to riches stories, Steve Harvey, Oprah Winfrey, Tony Robbins, Lisa Nichols, and many more. They were not passive about creating change in their lives. They did not succumb to their critics. They also did not do it alone.

Each of them displayed a consistent push to change the trajectory of their lives.

Breakthrough Tip: Count the Cost

If this season of your life has you saying, “I can’t do another year of life like this, NOT ONE MORE YEAR!” Then take a moment and review the list of barriers above. Do you identify with any of those barriers? If so, pick the one barrier that is most prevalent in your life. Take 30 minutes and write down what that barrier is costing you. Let’s say the barrier is procrastination.

  1. What has procrastination cost you in your past? Hindsight is always 20/20. What opportunities did you miss, and what stress have you endured because of it?

  2. What is procrastination costing you right now in your job, relationships, and finances?

  3. If you don’t do something to get a breakthrough, what will it cost you in your future?

Breakthrough for life is here, and it is NOW! Get the tools you need to Win at Life! You are a born champion, and it is your time to WIN!
